The risk recruitment market recovered strongly during 2010 and the number of risk managers employed in the financial sector increased significantly. The recovery was underpinned by the return to profitability and growth in the financial sector and increased regulatory oversight. Demand in the first six months of 2Click to view Report011 has fallen back but still remains above pre-crisis levels. It remains a good time to be working in risk management.

  • New vacancies amongst our sample companies fell from 136 in the second half of 2010 to 130 in the first six months of 2011.
  • At 175 the number of candidate registrations has continued to fall during 2011. Defensive registration marginally increased from 8% to 9%.
  • Salary increases achieved by risk managers fell back from 19% to 17%.
