Job Description

As Treasury Dealer / Analyst you will be responsible for managing & executing the day to day cash and foreign exchange for Group Treasury while optimising return on Treasury assets.

 

Responsibilities

  • Manage the use of the ECP programme; reduce the cost of funding in Euros, US$ and GBP relative to market conditions and widen the investor base.
  • Consider and analyse the use of derivative instruments to either reduce the cost of debt or enhance the return on investments.
  • Analyse, develop and implement as appropriate rates and FX hedging strategies.
  • Maintain relationships, as appropriate, with the dealing desk of banks, dealers, brokers, internal counterparties and other market participants.
  • To reconcile, on a daily basis, market positions / cash / bank balances and booking of intra-company transactions.
  • Manage internal dividend cash flow forecast in conjunction with the Treasury Controller and Group Finance.
  • Become fully conversant with all aspects of the Quantum Treasury management system, and to ensure it is developed to satisfy Front Office requirements as new instruments or transactions are considered. Support Assistant Manager in developing Quantum.
  • Ensure best execution across all front office dealing requirements.
  • Assist in the management and administration of the Group's borrowing facilities.
  • Execute intra group transactions, ensure adherence to delegated counterparty exposures and delegated authority limits.
  • Liaise with back office to ensure effective and efficient end to end execution and be responsible for process improvements and maintaining dealing procedures.
  • Undertake ad-hoc treasury projects as required.

 Requirements

  • Strong mathematical understanding.
  • Relevant professional qualification or a willingness to study towards one e.g. ACT, CFA or accountancy qualification.
  • Detailed working knowledge of money markets from both an investor and borrower perspective.
  • Detailed working knowledge of foreign exchange markets, bond markets and derivatives.
  • Working knowledge of the Repo market.
  • Aware of accounting implications of trades.
  • Aware of settlement procedures.
  • Familiar with the different capital market instruments available for the raising of debt.
  • Experience of using treasury management systems.
  •  Knowledge of Bloomberg.
