The Division

 

This role sits in the Legal & Compliance division which have merged as of 2018. Compliance was established in 2001 and Legal was established in 2008. Over the last few years both have been 2 of the biggest billing teams globally.

 

The Legal & Compliance team is currently 6 strong with 3 focused on the legal side. The legal team recruits from NQ up to GC level with average fees amongst the highest in the company. We are one of the leading names in the banking and wider FS market and solely focus on in house recruitment.

 

We recruit for the likes of Aon, Beazley, Aviva etc. and this desk would include all of general insurance, Lloyd’s market and life & pensions.

 

In this role, you will recruit across all areas of legal, regulatory compliance and governance (Company Secretarial etc.).

 

The team is looking to expand over the next 12 months with budget for 3-4 additional hires so this an excellent time to join.

 

 

The Role

 

The role will be based in the London office and will report into the Head of the Division. We are looking to hire this role at Senior Consultant grade and it is a new hire being driven by market demands.  The role offers a mix of very warm accounts as well as areas of development.

 

Insurance is an area that is reasonably well developed but will require someone who is keen to develop new business and grow things further, whilst managing a 360 desk. This role will work alongside this year’s top global biller who works on legal and last year’s top UK biller on the compliance side.

 

The role will require a mix of account management for some of the larger accounts that will form part of the desk and business development to bring on more work. There are good clients but the business recognises there is work to be done.  For year one, the billing expectations would be in the £100-120,000 region, with year 2 moving to £180,000+. Considering the market size and current conditions, there is a realistic expectation of billing north of £240,000 fairly quickly.

 

The focus of the desk will initially be billing only as we grow the desk but depending on the level of the person who joins and speed of development, management is very possible in the future.

 

 

The Candidate

 

This will be a Senior Consultant level hire and we are ideally looking for someone with previous experience of recruiting legal and/or compliance professionals within insurance, although broader financial services experience will definitely be considered.

 

To be successful in this desk it is vital you have experience of running a 360 desk and are comfortable dealing with both existing candidates & clients as well as developing new relationships.

 

We need someone who is motivated, engaged and able to quickly hit the ground running but can provide training on most technical areas of the job.
