Job Description

A leading regulatory body is seeking a Senior Prudential Risk Specialist for its London team.

 

A new team has been created to limit the impact of company failures as a result of Covid-19.  The team is responsible for assessing the financial resilience of financial services firms and identifying those which are critical to the UK economy.  This will provide a fantastic opportunity to build the breadth and depth of your Prudential Risk (Liquidity/Capital) knowledge in an interesting and influential role.

 

The firm is seeking Prudential Risk specialists with strong prior knowledge of liquidity and/or capital.  They are looking for people who are able to undertake critical analysis of a firm’s business model and understand the intricacies and complexities of its balance sheet composition as well as the associated prudential risks.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Understand the operating models of a wide variety of financial services companies and provide financial resilience analysis across different prudential risks and structured finance products
  • Monitoring firms’ changing liquidity and funding positions (reviewed weekly)
  • Provide detailed assessment of liquidity and/or capital
  • Dealing with prudential queries from firms and supervisors
  • Providing coaching and support to more junior team members

Requirements:

  • Proven experience of prudential risk management and regulatory frameworks
  • Ability to influence external stakeholders and cut through complexity
  • Experience working at a financial services organisation – for example:

Banks, Building Societies, Capital Markets, Inter-dealer Brokers, Insurance, Asset and Wealth Finance, Financial Platforms, Payments, Peer-to-Peer Lenders, Consumer Credit, Outsourcers
