Senior Operational Risk Manager

This is a newly created role in a space where future plans are to grow and build out the team across the marketing division.

Your Job

You will drive and  lead on the design and implementation of the operational risk framework, managing a team of 5; Daily activities include…

• Working closely with team leads across the globe and UK to take responsible oversite of framework development & implementation..
• Supporting the head of Risk & trade support, to design suitable & effective controls. Develop and promote a line of defence model across the business.
• Overseeing the constant development and maintenance of the Operational risk framework by Identify gaps and ways to improve processes.
• Articulately taking part in board meetings, to provide regulatory expertise and thought leadership.
• Managing a team of direct reports, supporting with developmental plans & regular 121s.
• Writing up policy, understanding the changing regulation and staying ahead of the game.
• Maintaining strong relationships with senior stakeholders and Business influencers to ensure speedy remediation between barriers which could conflict with the business objective.
• This role requires 5 days in the office.

Your Skills

As the ideal candidate you will have …

• Experience designing & embedding an operational risk framework in a commodities trading environment
• The ability to be think outside the box on how to improve the efficiency of the overall business.
• The confidence to challenge the status quo whilst educating complexed ideas in layman’s terms to keep all parties on side.
• Strong written and verbal skills
