Job Description

A world class European bank are seeking a senior lawyer with a background in retail banking products (ideally Mortgages) and banking regulations for a key role within their banking team. This role will report directly into the head of legal and will involve a wide variety of responsibilities including advising on retail, commercial and corporate mortgage and loans products. 

Specific responsibilities of the role will include:

  •  Ensuring legal documentation is drafted in accordance with UK regulations, such as COBS, MCOB, UTTCR;
  • Providing support to Global/UK Product Owners to ensure new products are developed in accordance with the laws of the UK and comply with UK regulations;
  • Providing advice and assistance on mortgage and loan related queries and  supporting Bank projects
  • You will work closely with key stakeholders within the UK and Globally and you will support the delivery of the department’s strategic and operational objectives

As a qualified lawyer with at least 4 years PQE you will have proven experience in the banking space either through a banking products role in private practice or in-house. Knowledge of retail banking products, specifically mortgages and financial services regulatory experience is essential. Due to the level of stakeholder exposure within this role strong communication skills are key. This role comes with a competitive salary package and an excellent name on the CV.
