Senior In-house contentious Employment Lawyer

Job Description

A global financial services institution is seeking an employment lawyer to join their Employment team based in London.This will be a key role within the team dealing with a full range of employment advice but mostly focusing on contentious matters. This role offers autonomy and the opportunity to manage your own workload.  It will require you to form strong relationships with the senior people around the business as one of the the go-to people for contentious employment matters. 

You will be involved in all employment related litigation matters with some exposure to non-contentious employment advisory work. You will have to maintain a continuous awareness to regulatory changes affecting the employment space and ensure relevant stakeholders are kept abreast of these developments. This will be a varied role that will cover a multitude of employment areas including pensions, benefits and immigration but further to this you will have exposure to competition, data protection and e-commerce. 

As a qualified lawyer with a minimum of 5 years post-qualification you will have proven employment law experience specifically within the contentious space. If you have mixed contentious and non contentious experience this will also work. You will be confident enough to build and manage stakeholder relationships have the ability to role your sleeves up and from day one. In-house experience would be useful and although not required, a financial services background is likely to put you in good stead. You will have strong academics and will ideally have trained in a reputable city law firm.
