Senior Compliance Manager

My client is a motor finance company based in Liverpool.

They are looking to hire a compliance manager to report into the current Head of Compliance with a view for this person to succeed the Head of Compliance in due course.

The role is for a consumer credit focused regulatory compliance professional to advise and provide oversight to the business on all regulatory compliance matters.

You will

  • Maintaining and developing a robust three-lines-of-defence governance framework;
  • Second-line oversight of sales and operational controls (including 1st-line quality control, quality assurance and sales and introducer management processes) for the prevention and detection of non-compliance, including proportionate, risk-based monitoring;
  • Compliance support for identifying and implementing regulatory developments and business developments triggering regulatory/policy requirements, including Compliance representation on change projects;

Skills and experience

  • In-depth technical knowledge and understanding of applicable legislation (including CONC, CCA, DPA/GDPR and Consumer Rights Act).
  • In-depth understanding of governance, compliance, QA/QC and risk assessment methodology and processes.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of finance products and documentation.
  • Relationship management skills and ability to present to and persuade senior management both internally and at our business partners.
  • Ability to navigate and interpret regulatory requirements and advise on them authoritatively.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Eye for detail, balanced with commercial pragmatism and the ability to find creative solutions.

Salary on offer is £60,000 – £80,000 plus bonus and pension. You will be expected in the central Liverpool office 3 days a week.
