Job Description

To provide support to the Political & Credit Risk underwriting team, in coordination with the Senior Credit Manager, in analysing and presenting analysis on individual credit risks, drawing out deal strengths / weaknesses.

Produce ratings for corporate obligors and transactions based on established procedures utilising external modelling guidelines (e.g. Moody’s).

Under the guidance of the Senior Credit Manager, proactively produce ad hoc economic, industry and sector analysis to enable effective and more efficient underwriting. The nature of risk underwritten is global in reach across all industry sectors and including all types of banking and commercial transactions.

Support the Political & Credit Risk team in forming and continually monitoring robust views on international economies and key sectors.

To undertake the assessment and analysis of individual credit and political risks.

This will involve the use of technical and practical analytics and also application of acquired risk assessment experience.  Assessments will be made based upon client supplied reports, existing knowledge and third party/market sourced information.

The analysis process will also involve the modelling of financial performance data through the spreading of audited, unaudited and management financial information in Excel, calculating various financial ratio’s, interpreting these and reaching judgements on the credit worthiness of an obligor.

The analysis will be summarised in a written report and will be supported by the determination of an internal credit rating.

To be involved in the underwriting analysis process. Undertake industry and company research to provide proactive assistance to underwriters. This will involve use of analytical skills such as economic, industry and sector analysis, peer, trend and SWOT analysis, understanding of company strategy, key factors for success etc.
