My client, a leading financial services firm with international presence is growing its IT Security team. If you have skills in Insurance business programs, risk management, IT development projects, or infrastructure projects then i am interested in speaking with you.

The role falls within the business aligned security design and delivery of controls within projects for IT.


You'll deliver first in class security advice and expertise across projects, the wider business and risk, specifically with focus within digital transformation for the group as well as technical IT projects.


Given the breadth of the role, you'll be dealing with and would ideally have experience with a vast selection of technologies and applications. Microsoft Development and Deployment are useful, but a range of other technologies from Mainframe to Unix to Desktop are also important.


What you will be doing

  • Support and assess Information Security Criticality Assessments (ISCA) and advise on appropriate control methods
  • Ensure correct treatment of all alerts
  • Report data leakage events
  • Support the specific IFC controls, ensuring these pass Operational Testing annually and any deficiencies are remediated in line with deadlines agreed at IFC Committee
  • Prepare, and when appropriate, deliver oral and written reports to the Head of UK Security as well as other key senior managers within the business
  • Highlight key or emerging issues that will impact audit closure, IFC deficiency status, or other controls environment concerns
  • Coordinate annual reviews and updates of relevant information security policies
  • Work with the UK Security team on process refinement to reduce the risk of information security.


  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to negotiate
  • Ability to communicate across a range of stakeholders including senior management
  • Technical experience or knowledge of Azure and Java/Linux environments
  • A strong customer focus to ensure internal stakeholder needs are met
  • Ability to manage a variable workload with tight deadlines
  • Analytical skills and the ability to clearly identify key issues
  • Some knowledge and understanding of the issues and key information requirements affecting the IT environment in Agile scenarios
  • A relevant Professional Qualification is desirable (eg CISSP, CISM, MIISP, CompTIA Security+ Certification).
