Job Description

The transactional banking team within a well known financial services institution are seeking a lawyer with proven payments, bank accounts or financial services regulatory for a key role. This team deals with the banking for large corporates meaning the role will be very varied and business focused therefore allowing immediate and constant stakeholder exposure. 

Your responsibilities will be broad and will include drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts and the terms & conditions for products. You will act as the lead lawyer on major transactions and projects that the business area is working on which will allow for management of senior stakeholders and external counsel. Further to this you will advise on regulations in relation to bank accounts, payments, cash management and FX. 

As a qualified lawyer with at least 3 years PQE you will have proven experience of financial services regulations as a minimum. Ideally you will have knowledge of regulations for payments (key), card issuing, merchant acquiring, cash supply and cheques. Ideally you will have had previous exposure to a corporate banking team either via a secondment or an in-house role. The client is very open to looking at private practice lawyers with this experience providing they have good training from a reputable city firm.
