Job Description

As Head of Liquidity you will be responsible for initiating, developing and delivering policies, strategies and plans to shape and determine effective liquidity and collateral risk management.

 

Liquidity Management:

  • Oversee liquidity management to ensure that there is sufficient liquidity to meet the requirements of the Group and its business units, both on an on-going basis but also under various stress scenarios.
  • This includes developing and implementing contingent liquidity solutions as appropriate.
  • Be the subject matter expert on liquidity, and collateral risk, from a best practise and regulatory point of view.
  • Propose, develop and implement liquidity policies, strategies and frameworks for the Group and business units working with them to ensure adherence to all such policies, strategies and frameworks including the Group Liquidity Risk Policy.
  • Working with second line risk team, initiate, develop and implement liquidity stress testing models to ensure that liquidity risk under a wide range of plausible scenarios is fully understood and documented.
  • Develop, propose and implement plans and strategies for alternative sources of liquidity, engaging with external counterparties in order to explore liquidity solutions.

 

Collateral Management:

  • Oversee collateral management to ensure that there is sufficient collateral to meet the requirements of the Group and its business units, both on an on-going basis but also under various stress scenarios.
  • Propose, develop and implement collateral policies, strategies and frameworks for the Group and business units working with them to ensure adherence to all such policies, strategies and frameworks.
  • Working with second line, Group Risk, initiate, develop and implement collateral stress testing models to ensure that liquidity risk under a wide range of plausible scenarios is fully understood and documented.
  • Develop, propose and implement plans and strategies for alternative sources of Collateral, engaging with external counterparties in order to explore collateral management solutions.
  • Develop plans and strategies to optimise Collateral efficiency across the Group and products, including the use of repos.

 

Reporting:

  • Responsible for the quality, accuracy and timeliness of MI provided to management, and Risk and Boards. Attend and present as required to all relevant oversight committees in relation to liquidity and collateral matters.

 

Requirements:

  • Professional treasury and/or finance qualification.
  • Relevant experience within Treasury and/or Liquidity Risk / ALM.
  • In depth knowledge and experience of liquidity and collateral risk, stress testing and risk management.
  • Detailed working knowledge of all money market, foreign exchange and derivative transactions along with a good understanding of the implication of collateral form derivatives.
  • Good knowledge of Solvency II and Matching Adjustment and how it impacts liquidity requirements.
  • Good knowledge of liquidity regulatory frameworks.
