Head of First Line Financial Crime Advisory

My client is a very well known and sizeable universal Bank looking for someone to Head of up their first line team on the markets side of the business for all financial crime queries. This is the go to team for all high risk client queries and questions form the business. This is very much an advisory role rather than an operational client sign off team and will see you lead a team of people partnering with the business and the wider risk and compliance teams to ensure the bank is adhering to its risk appetite.

You and the team will be responsible for making risk based decisions as well as conducting specialised enhanced due diligence checks on the on the most high risk and complex clients. This will be a team with huge visibility and the chance to really act as a partner to the front office. While not an MLRO this role will have a lot of say in what the risk framework and appetites are for the front office and this develop the strategic approach and senior stakeholder engagement skills necessary to perform this type of role in the future.

They’re a great bank with a very good reputation who take their financial crime obligations seriously so this should be a fantastic role for someone. The role can be based at a few locations across the UK including London for the right person but there may be some travel needed to the other hubs at times.
