Data Protection Officer

My Client, a housing association and charity, are looking for a DPO  to ensure compliance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation, and other existing UK Data Protection Laws.  As SME for everything privacy related within the organisation, you will be responsible for guidance on data protection matters and the drive and leadership for a continued programme of review and improvement for our data protection and management.

 Responsibilities include: 

• Monitoring data protection compliance with relevant information rights data privacy/protection law and internal data protection policies and procedures
• Providing expert advice, guidance, and information to the organisation and those processing its data regarding their legal obligations
• Ensuring compliance checking activities are undertaken as necessary
• Monitoring and providing guidance as necessary in relation to data security breaches
• Offering advice regarding Data Protection Impact Assessments and monitoring performance
• Assisting in the process of information management

 

About you:

• Expertise in Data Protection and Data Privacy, previously have been in senior/managerial position
• Extensive experience of working with personal data/data subjects
• Great stakeholder relationship management, including good influencing, communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to articulate technical language to the business.
• Recognised Data Protection qualification such as CIPP/E, EU-GDPR
