Controls Assurance Analyst – Finance

As our Risk team expands, we are currently seeking two Control Assurance Analysts to join our Operational Risk team. This is a fantastic opportunity offering a generous pension, competitive base salary, and a favorable work-life balance. We operate a hybrid working model with the option to work from our Manchester office.

Your Role

You will play an integral part in our operational risk function, collaborating with either the finance team or a dedicated business unit. Your daily activities will include:

  • Providing support for your assigned risk portfolio, managing it in accordance with the Operational Risk Management Framework and relevant risk and compliance policies and procedures.
  • Reviewing, testing, enhancing, and designing controls to ensure robust control management.
  • Chairing Monthly Risk Forums with various business functions and other key stakeholders.
  • Ensuring strong risk management by closely collaborating with line 1 business teams, conducting risk identification, spotlight reviews, and assessment workshops.
  • Delivering insights on second line reviews to senior stakeholders and effectively communicating how a strong risk culture is integral to our business.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with senior stakeholders and other areas of the business.
  • Staying informed and up-to-date on regulatory updates and changes, and incorporating them into your everyday work. Developing a deep understanding of our products, product changes, business processes, and process changes.

Your Skills

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Previous experience in control testing within the financial services sector. Experience facing off to the finance department is desirable.
  • The ability to think outside the box and identify opportunities for enhancing overall business efficiency.
  • The confidence to challenge the status quo while maintaining positive relationships.
  • Strong written, presentation, and verbal communication skills.
