Job Title: Capital Planning Manager

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Capital Planning Manager to join a retail bank. The successful candidate will take the lead on critical management processes, including Capital Frameworks and Policies review, Stress Testing, Capital Transfer Pricing, and Capital Risk and Control Self-Assessment. This business-facing role will require extensive interaction with key stakeholders, including the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team, Finance Business Partners, Treasury, Risk, and the Business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead on Capital Frameworks and Polices, development, updates, and approval
  • Lead on Capital Risk appetite updates, review, and approval
  • Support the Capital Transfer Pricing (CTP) process, including monthly runs, reviews, and CTP policy updates
  • Support the completion of the annual ICAAP assessment, including ownership of the ICAAP Stress Testing and Reverse Stress Testing Assessments
  • Identifying and summarizing changes in prudential regulation relating to capital issued by the regulatory authorities
  • Lead on capital structure optimization, including specific capital actions such as issuances and dividends
  • Perform capital review and analysis of new products and initiatives
  • Review of future regulatory changes, and assessment of their impact on the capital plan
  • Provide capital support and analysis on wider Group-wide initiatives such as Recovery Plan and ILAAP

Requirements:

  • Technical knowledge of capital regulations, with emphasis on standardized CRR requirements and Pillar 2 capital requirements
  • Strong analytical skills and a track record of problem solving
  • Excellent communication, both written and verbal
  • Ability to confidently challenge peers and seniors across the organization
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office packages, Excel in particular
  • Capital/Financial planning experience
  • Ability to prioritize workload and meet tight deadlines
  • An understanding of retail/commercial banking
  • Previous capital planning or stress testing experience is desirable
