Our client, a London based retail and commercial bank, is seeking a Senior Risk Officer to join their Capital Management team within the Treasury department. The role is responsible for ensuring that the bank’s risk management framework is robust and effective, and that it is in compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements. The Senior Risk Officer will be responsible for supporting the development of the ICAAP assessment and recovery plan as well as for managing and monitoring the bank’s regulatory capital position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce capital analysis for various management committees and senior executives
  • Work closely with other colleagues across the bank to produce the capital and business plan, ensuring sufficient controls and documentation are in place.
  • Perform sensitivity analysis for the capital plan for various business developments/headwinds or other economic events.
  • Support the annual capital adequacy assessment (ICAAP) in particular stress testing.
  • Support the day to day operations for capital management.
  • Develop feasible capital management actions.
  • Analyse the impact and set up of the recovery and resolution plan.
  • Support the external disclosures in respect to capital.
  • Operate in line with the bank’s Risk Management framework and relevant risk and compliance policies and procedures, ensuring appropriate and timely escalation of any concerns to their line manager.

The ideal candidate should be self-motivated, have the ability to work independently as well as in cooperation with others. They should possess strong analytical skills and the ability to think in an abstract way and assess risk. They should have strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written. They should be able to work in an organised yet flexible manner, have a strong sense of administrative order, and regulatory capital knowledge and understanding of CRR and PRA regulations would be an advantage. Advanced knowledge of MS Offices packages, excel in particular is required.
