Job Description

As Associate Director - Prudential Risk, you will ensure that prudential risks are managed in line with the Group’s risk appetite, issues are resolved satisfactorily, and Group risk frameworks are embedded and complied with.

 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide risk management leadership and insight to the business, helping them to fully understand their risk profile;
  • Lead the portfolio of prudential first line risk activities globally, both in terms of core risk programs and ad-hoc project deliverables;
  • Develop and roll out first line prudential risk policy which is in keeping with the Group-wide risk framework;
  • Develop and roll out first line prudential risk appetite thresholds, KPIs, KRIs and reporting;
  • Provide necessary support and training to embed first line prudential risk policy in the business;
  • Provide necessary challenge and oversight to manage risks from first line prudential models;
  • Provide regular prudential risk reporting to senior management and appropriate governance bodies;
  • Provide meaningful and value-add risk and control reporting to regional committees and senior management, which includes communication on the status of key risks and their respective remediation programs in the business and regulatory initiatives;
  • Working closely with the Head of Operational Risk to lead group wide scenario planning exercises as required globally, and ensure that these are carried out on a timely basis;
  • Embed Enterprise Risk Management frameworks and systems within the business. Drive continuous improvement and excellence;
  • Ensure that risk data is effectively captured and maintained, and appropriate controls, risk appetite measures and key risk indicators (KRIs) are in place;
  • Proactively challenge existing practices and recommend risk solutions;
  • Lead risk management training and education to increase risk awareness of good risk management practices in the business;
  • Lead and/or participate in ad hoc risk related activities, as and when required.

 

Requirements:

  • Risk Management practitioner with broad and proven industry experience including relevant risk qualifications and relevant business experience particularly in the investment, wholesale and institutional sectors;
  • Experience of operating in a senior prudential risk management role within the financial services industry;
  • Sound understanding of prudential risk (capital and liquidity) management;
  • Good knowledge of prudential regulatory requirements and best practices.
