Senior Compliance Officer

My international Asset Management client is looking for an experienced AIFM compliance professional to join their company as a standalone conducting officer with the aim to start to build out the compliance function in Luxembourg over the next 18 months. The role will have multiple project outside of business as usual as well, most notably, extending the AIFM licence for the Private Equity business and expansion in Italy and Spain, all led from compliance Luxembourg (this role).

Responsibilities & Duties:

The key focus of this role: Perform tasks as Conducting officer for Compliance, AML/KYC in the design, development and execution of a risk-based compliance programme. Ensuring that the firm is properly discharging its obligations under the application laws, regulations and guidance.

Key Responsibilities:

1) Policy Development: Assist in the development and maintenance of Compliance policies and procedures including the Compliance Manual, ensuring that they are consistent with regulatory requirements. Assist the business in developing and implementing appropriate policies and procedures where required.
2) Monitoring & Oversight: provide support to the design, development and execution of a risk-based compliance program, to ensure that the firm properly discharges its obligations under applicable laws, regulations, and guidance.
3) Responsible for the AML-CFT (“RC”):
Carry out the AML-CFT controls on assets/investors. Monitor timely updating and review of AML-CFT policies and procedures taking into account the AML- CFT Regulatory update. Prepare and ensure that all necessary internal and external AML reports and filings are completed correctly and in a timely manner, including CSSF filing, review of LFR, AML/CFT Questionnaire.
4) Governance & Regulatory Engagement: Make an active contribution to the corporate governance framework of the firm. Support routine ad-hoc reporting to the CSSF, CBI and other regulatory authorities.
Competencies:
Extensive knowledge of Luxembourg Fund Industry and regulatory environment; in particular, knowledge of the laws implementing AIFMD, MiFiD, AML regulations and associated CSSF circulars (18/698)
Fluency in English (Verbal and written) is essential.
Qualifications and Experience Requirement:
Proven years of experience 8-10 years working within the financial services industry, particularly within a Management company/AIFM.
Compliance and AML/KYC extensive knowledge & experience
There is flexibility around the working week but generally they would look to have you in the office 4 days a week with a bonus between 20-30% along with a strong benefits package.
