CSDR Compliance Advisory

My client is a global and systemic financial services firm. They are searching for a Senior Compliance Advisory professional to join their growing team.

As Senior Compliance Advisory Officer, member of the Market and Business Conduct team, your primary responsibility is to advise Senior Management and the different lines of business on appropriate application of laws, regulations, standards and codes. The responsibilities of this position focus on 3 main categories:

  • UK and EU banking legislation
  • UK & EU Directives and principles applicable to Financial Market Infrastructures, most notably Central Securities Depository (CSD) and CPMI/IOSCO
  • Outsourcing multi-jurisdictional requirements

The role will also incorporate the compliance review of new business projects and initiatives, M&A’s, other partnerships and strategic files. The role will cover advisory across the wider group.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Business as usual (BAU) Support:
  • monitoring relevant regulatory developments and working collaboratively with Legal
  • advising and coordinating the implementation of upcoming legislation and regulation
  • promoting and enhancing the compliance culture and general compliance awareness.
  • Compliance and Ethics Support: Assisting other Compliance teams by providing appropriate input
  • Other group entities: Share best practices, knowledge and support the CSDs under your remit.

Technical Skills

  • Strong experience in the financial services sector ideally a compliance advisory team of a financial institution, a regulatory authority or a consultancy firm.
  • Knowledge of some of the domains in scope of this role (banking and CSD laws, outsourcing specifically). Any knowledge of additional market and business conduct domains such as market abuse, conflicts of interest is a plus.
  • Experience in interpreting, advising on or monitoring compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Regulatory project management skills

This role will require you in the London office 4 times per month and pays between £80,000 – £100,000 basic.
