Limited demand for governance professionals in the public sector
Demand for corporate governance professionals in the public sector is at a historic low. The retrenchment in government spending has led to downward pressure on budgets across central and local government, the NHS and other government agencies. Difficulties in raising funding have also affected the charitable and not-for-profit sectors.
However, the need for governance work to be carried out remains. This has resulted in an increase in the number of contracts being awarded to consultancies that supply to the public sector, with a consequent flow of vacancies particularly for internal and IT auditors. These roles offer internal auditors excellent career development opportunities due to the quality of the training and professional development the firm’s provide, access to the latest methodologies and rapid promotion paths.
Our Public Sector division works for a wide range of clients, throughout the UK, including local government bodies, central government departments and agencies, education institutions, relevant audit consortiums, consultancies, the NHS and housing. We also recruit for charitable organisations. We are an accredited Government Procurement Service supplier for temporary internal audit and IT security positions for the NHS and other public sector bodies.
