Legal recruitment steady across the Middle East
The Middle East legal recruitment market has certainly been affected by the global economic crisis but opportunities still exist for qualified lawyers across the region. In the UAE there is currently more recruitment activity in Abu Dhabi than in Dubai, but other countries such as Bahrain, Qatar and Kuwait also offer excellent opportunities for qualified lawyers looking to work for international organisations on a tax-free package. The Middle East offers high living standards, good schools, tax-free salaries, excellent quality of work and superb career progression.
We are recruiting for in-house legal jobs in the Middle East across all industry sectors with the main demand currently in financial services and oil & gas. Opportunities exist for lawyers making their first move into an in-house role, as well as for in-house lawyers with a minimum of two years post qualified experience up to senior Heads of Legal. Experience gained in the local market is highly valued, and due to current economic conditions it is now proving more difficult to move directly from the West without previous experience of working in the region. Qualified lawyers who speak fluent Arabic are in high demand.
