The legal recruitment market is improving. There are more vacancies and redundancies are falling back towards pre-recession levels. Notwithstanding the current economic uncertainties we are optimistic that this will continue throughout 2010.
- New vacancies amongst our sample companies rose to 49 in the second half of 2009 from 27 in the first half.
- Candidate registrations are broadly stable with defensive registrations accounting for only 28% of registrations compared to 57% in the first half of 2009.
- Salary increases remain depressed at only 4%.
