An internationally renowned insurance company with multiple operations across Europe is currently hiring a Data Privacy Officer to create, implement and maintain a data privacy governance structure. Providing legal and regulatory advice to the business across Europe, you will work closely with the European General Counsel and the Global Data Privacy Officer to work within local laws and codes of practice. You will be expected to lead internal teams of lawyers, compliance and IT professionals. You will supply strategic insight and have a wealth of knowledge which will assist you in standardising systems and processes across the regions. Through the use of external resources you will keep on top of privacy developments enabling you to continuously improve standards and carry out risk assessments. You will be responsible for delivering training at all levels across the company and will cooperate with outside agencies regulators and external counsel.
You should be a qualified lawyer to apply for this position and have experience of data privacy matters in the UK and at least one other European country. Experience of working on or leading projects in this area will be essential in addition to knowledge of data privacy collection and management. You need to have excellent interpersonal skills, both written and verbal and be highly organised.
