To help give an indication as to the likely cost of living in an overseas location, here is a brief guide to comparable costs for a number of everyday items, including accommodation, transport and food. The costs are taken from a survey by Mercer Human Resource Consulting, conducted in 2006. They are in pounds sterling and based on purchases at medium priced establishments.
