Internal & IT audit recruitment market showing resilience
Despite the extraordinary pressures in the global financial markets and ongoing uncertainty as to the longer term impact of the economic problems, the Internal & Computer Audit recruitment market has not been hit as badly as might have been expected. There is certainly more caution about hiring decisions, but, as yet, relatively few redundancies, headcount or recruitment freezes.
This may reflect increasing recognition of the importance of good corporate governance which the current troubles have brought into sharp focus and which is likely to bode well for the sector in the medium to longer term. However, in the short term, it would be unrealistic to imagine that there will not be some pressure on the internal audit jobs market.
